Bald Eagle, Yukon Territory, Canada
In summer, the sun doesn't set in the Yukon until around midnight. It was shortly
before dusk when I returned home after fishing downriver from my cabin. After
catching a monster Northern Pike, I towed it behind my kayak all the way home.
I wasn't alone. A bald eagle accompanied me all the way. As I cleaned the fish,
the bald eagle never strayed further from me than 10 feet. In exchange for letting
me take its picture, I gave the bird all the fish entrails. It was a good trade.
