Big Salmon is hundreds of miles from civilization. It's a place where you can
really get some elbow room. After traveling by boat for over an hour, a friend
and I reached this island. Wolves and bears sometimes swim over to it, so we
had to carefully store our foodstuffs just like when camping anywhere else in
the Yukon bush. I set up my little one-person tent where I took this photo.
The lake stayed glassy calm right up until we pushed off in the boat to return
home.
